Picking the Perfect Shoe Size for Every Foot Type

The article below provides a guide on how to choose the best shoe size for your feet without the need to try on in-store. Let’s explore together.

In today’s age, many people prefer shopping online from the comfort of their own homes. Online shopping not only saves time and effort but also provides a wider range of options to choose from. However, there are also drawbacks to online shopping, particularly when it comes to buying shoes. The difference between Vietnamese and international shoe sizes can make it difficult to determine the right fit. Choosing the wrong size can result in shoes that are either too tight or too loose, leading to wastefulness.

A Guide to Choosing the Right Shoe Size for Every Foot

If you already know your foot size, you can scroll down to choose the appropriate shoe size. But if you’re unsure of your foot size, please gather the following items to proceed with us.

Step 1: Prepare the following items to measure your foot size:

  • A piece of paper larger than your foot
  • A ruler
  • A pen
  • The socks you plan to wear with the shoes

Step 2: Steps to measure your foot size:

After putting on your socks, press your foot firmly onto the paper to ensure it doesn’t move during the measurement. Then use a pen to trace the outline of your foot onto the paper.

Step 3: Measuring your foot length:

Mark two points at the tips of your toes and two points at the ends of your heel with a pen. Then use a ruler to measure the length between these two points.

Step 4: Measuring the width of your foot:

In addition to length, you should also measure the width of your foot. Use a ruler or measuring tape to determine the width near the top of your toe or at the widest part of your foot. It’s best to measure while sitting or standing with both feet straight.

Step 5: Calculating the result to choose your shoe size:

After measuring your feet, take the longest foot length and add 1.5cm to get the shoe size using the following formula:

Shoe size = N = L (foot length) + 1.5cm

Use the results to compare with the shoe size conversion table below. This method ensures you choose the most suitable shoe size for your feet.

For example: If you measure your foot length as 22.5cm, add another 1.5cm to get 24cm. Then refer to the cm column in the shoe size conversion table below to find your Vietnamese size (38 – 39), UK size (6), and US size (8).

Tips for measuring shoes:

  • Measure your feet when they are in their most comfortable state, preferably in the evening for the most accurate size.
  • Measure both feet, as they may not be the exact same size. Take note of the measurement from the longer and wider foot.
